What does research tell us about AI and student learning?

Research into AI tutoring shows promise, but the way it’s used matters. The important question is what students can understand, remember, and do independently afterwards.

An explanation is a starting point. Trying a step, explaining their reasoning, and tackling another problem give students a chance to turn that explanation into understanding.
